With ambivalent feelings of elation and sadness Carmel family assembled in the School Auditorium on Monday afternoon February 4, 2019 to bid farewell to its outgoing batch of Students of grade X with a touching celebration.
The solemn ceremony commenced with a unique Prayer Service wherein the entire gathering prayed for the students as we marked the end of an important milestone in their lives after which lamp was lit by Sr. Sarika our Principal, and the candles of the other students were lit with the same flame with a message to spread the light of knowledge, understanding and resilience all around.
Students of class IX gave a scintillating dance performance and the pulsating music rocked the ambience. “There are but two roads that lead to any important goal and to the doing of any great things: strength and perseverance. Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and it rarely fails its purpose, for its silent power irresistibly grows greater with time”. This thought provoking quote of Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe was beautifully exemplified in the skit entitled ‘Perseverance Pays’. They also presented farewell songs and wished their seniors luck in their endeavors.
Sharon Manna, Shifa Nafisa, Prenisha D Souza,Kaamilah Jinan,Nidhi Bhat and Fathima Sania articulated their thoughts and experiences ingeniously. Gayathri of class IX proposed a toast to the 10th standard students.
“Life is currently described in one of four ways: a journey, a battle, a pilgrimage and a race. Life is a journey it must be completed; life is a battle it must be fought to the finish; life is a pilgrimage it must be concluded; life is a race it must be won said Sr. Sarika in her farewell message. She also reminded them to build an inner world built on the ingredients of humane and divine qualities.Sr. Sarika our Principal handed over mementos to the students. The outgoing students expressed their gratitude and handed over their class contribution of love to the school.
The students dressed in ethnic attire made their last day memorable with posing for selfies and group photographs. Refreshments were served to the students.
