We celebrated International Women’s Day and Sesquicentennial year of the Apostolic Carmel on March 15,2018 in Sacred Heart Church Hall by Carmel Seva Trust and Carmel Vocational Training Institute jointly from 11:00 am to 3 pm followed by lunch. Participants were nearly 350. They were from 30 SHG’s and CVTI students about 75. They were welcomed by light breakfast. Programme consisted with prayer, welcome inauguration garlanding Mother Veronica’s photo by A.C Sisters, speech by Mrs. Mangala and Mrs Vidyavathi on the nurturing of children by the parents. A skit on Mother Veronica was acted beautifully by the students of CVTI a model for our women.

Our SHG women too acted well on different issues of women and children. Mrs. Parvin, a member of the Self- Help Group was honoured for taking initiative o take loan and to keep an Ingredients Shop and supplement the family income. She had a small shop and now it is extended and she is doing well. Ms. Sushmitha from CVTI was else honoured for being an earnest and all round student. With vote of thanks the programme ended. Then we served Veg. Biriyani and buttermilk. We shared the lunch with the prison women also and our CST tuition children. It was a memorable day for Carmel Seva Trust.
