St. Cecily’s Composite P.U. College, Udupi celebrated ‘Eco-Friendly Day’ recently under the guidance of Mrs. Renita Lewis.
The students presented a meaningful programme to commemorate the significance of World Environment Day which is celebrated every year on the 5th of June. The theme for this year to ‘Combat Air Pollution’.
A dance drama was performed depicting the plight of environment caused by pollution. The act also displayed the significance of bringing about a change to create better tomorrow. The song ‘Count On Trees’ bringing out the benevolence of Mother Earth was sung by the nightingales of the college giving a clarion call to green the earth.
A power point presentation was made by Joel highlighting the Eco-Friendly measures to save Mother Nature. The students then danced to the tune of ‘Hawa Aane Do’ graciously portraying the need for inhaling pure air.
Sr. Rachana, The Principal, gave a meaningful message on the importance of conserving the environment.
The programme concluded with a Solemn Pledge by the college pupil leader Miss Lavanya promising to work hand in hand in saving Mother Nature. The programme was compered by Joel and Milosha Mariam.
Later, saplings were planted by Sr. Rachana, The Principal along with the staff and students to commemorate the significance of the occasion.
