Sister Maria Shamita takes over as the Karnataka Provincial Superior

On 31st January 2019 Sister Maria Shamita was elected as the Provincial Superior of the Apostolic Carmel, Karnataka Province in place of Sister Carmel Rita.

Sister Carmel Rita handed over the charge to the Newly Elect at the end of the Eucharist with a short ceremony on April 28, 2019. Around 250 sisters of the Province were present for the Eucharistic Celebration offered by Rev. Fr Derek D’Souza ofm (Cap). The Provincial Team comprised of Sisters Maria Kripa, Maria Melissa, Maria Shubha, Julie Ann and Sister Linet D’Souza.

The day was also an occasion for the Province Get- together and to felicitate the Diamond, Golden, Ruby and Silver Jubilarians.
