January 30: St. Ann’s College of Education (Autonomous), Mangaluru celebrated Peace Day for India on 30th January, 2019. The day was marked with significant and meaningful celebrations. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings through the prayer service. The students highlighted the aspect of peace in various religious scriptures and prayed for peace at all levels.
Students danced gracefully to the rhythm of ‘Shanthi Mantra’ aspiring that all the people may live in peace and harmony. Meral D’Souza highlighted the significance of the day. Riya and group enacted a skit which depicted the different ways in which we can contribute to bring about peace in our families, neighbourhood and society at large. A dance was performed by Gauri Desai and Group depicting the importance of peace and the serenity it brings into our lives. Students also presented a meaningful ‘Action Plan’ to live in peace and to spread the message of peace around.
Principal Dr. Sr. Clare A.C. speaking on this occasion expressed the importance of peace by quoting examples of great leaders and also the experiences from personal life. The exuberant works of Late Mr. George Fernandes were highlighted and a tribute was also paid for great life and contribution to our country.
Sr. Zeena A. C. coordinated the programme. All the staff and students took part actively in this celebration.
