The Jingling of bells and the adorable decorations at the school indicated the onset of Christmas. A full-fledged lush Christmas farm at the Headmistress’s office had the power, beauty and the divinity revealing the celebration of the birth of JESUS CHRIST.
Christmas being a season of good will the sisters, the staff, and the students spent some time with the homeless and struggling to make the ends meet. Few of them visited the slums of Kuri Mandi, JSS Colony and M.S Layout with sweets and cakes.
Christmas celebration and festivities was enjoyed at St. Joseph’s School Bannimantap on Saturday the 22nd of December 2018. The joy and essence of Christmas came alive when few students of Blind, Deaf and Mute school joined the merriment. They were warmly welcomed by Rev. Fr. Cyril D’Souza a retired Priest of Mysore Diocese and the Chief Guest of the day with Christmas Caps and humble gift consisting of eatables and toiletries.
The students of the school attired themselves with Christmas Caps and colourful symbols related to Christmas. The Notice Boards of each class symbolised the significance of ‘CHRISTMAS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES’ which exhibited their creativity.
The cultural programme was organized by the HONEY BEES of VII B. A Skit on “Reason for the Season” depicting the values and importance of Christmas and a beautiful Ballad Dance on ‘JOY TO THE WORLD’ enthralled the audience. Rev. Fr. Cyril D’Souza the Chief Guest spoke about the purpose of the birth of Jesus Christ and the presence of Santa Claus in the celebration.
Christmas celebrations are incomplete without the customary cakes. The lip smacking cakes were offered to the entire community of St. Joseph’s School and the special guests of the day including the auto drivers. The Headmistress appreciated the wonderful programme put up by the students. Later the special guests were offered refreshments. It was surely a Christmas to remember at St. Joseph’s School.
