The Sesquicentennial Celebration of the Foundation of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation was woven into the fabric of the academic year i.e. 16th July 2017 to July 16th 2018 with various celebrations/activities/competitions bringing the celebration to the end on the 14th July 2018 with a gala programme put up by the sparkling diamonds of V A.
The festivities included sesquicentennial events such as distribution of 150 geometry boxes to the needy students, display of 150 banners on the Vanamahotsava day, planting of 150 plants of various kinds in the school garden, a Finale on the life of Mother Veronica on Annual Day, Twelve Outreach programmes to various Institutions/centres , the Pencil sketch and the Quiz Contest on Mother Veronica for all the students of the school were conducted as part of the celebration.
The milestone kicked off with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist for all the catholic students/staff of the campus. The arrival of about 25 students from the “LORDS HOME “ an orphanage for boys added colour for the programme who were warmly welcomed with gifts and served with refreshments.
The students highlighted the life and times of Mother Veronica. The SUN BEAMS of IV C formed symbolically the figure 150 recalling the mighty Blessings of God poured on our Congregation and on all of us . Prizes were distributed to the winners. The celebration came to an end symbolically by letting free two pigeons in the air. As the Pigeons flew up in the Sky the students hailed Mother Veronica and cheered her along with music for her magnificent Contribution made to the Church, the Congregation and to all of us. Later the jubilee cake was distributed to the students followed by a sumptuous lunch to the staff.
