July 05, 2018: St. Ann’s College of Education (Autonomous), Mangaluru celebrated World Environment Day

`World Environment Day is a very important day in our life as we are aware of the issues related to our environment ad pledge to keep it safe for our better future’. Keeping this thought in mind, the World Environment Day was celebrated in St. Ann’s College of Education. The programme began with an invocation and prayer service asking God to bless all those who are working and striving for creating environmental awareness among all of us. The Principal symbolically sowed the seeds with the message that highlighted that we need to nurture and care for our mother earth. The song ‘Vanasiri prakrithiya varadhana’ was sung to depict the beauty and splendor of nature.
The dance on protecting environment depicted the need for preserving the natural resources and growing trees.

The significance of the day was given highlighting the theme for the year “Beat Plastic Pollution”.

The Principal Dr. Sr. Clare A.C. in her address to the staff and students emphasized the need for protecting environment and to start the process of preserving environment at the individual level in order to contribute towards Swaach Bharat Abhiyan. Sr. Zeena A.C , Lecturer co-ordinated the programme. Thasmine, B.Ed Student compered the programme.

All the staff and students were present for the programme.
