The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor by class 9B with the staff, parents and students of the school. . The day began with the traditional flag hoisting ceremony, The Chief Guest, Mrs.Lavina Sequeira, hoisted the national flag. The National Anthem was sung with reverence, followed by Zanda Geeth. Snehal Miranda made a vibrating Independence Day speech. Kashish and Anvitha hosted the flag hoisting ceremony in our national language, hindi.

After the flag hoisting ceremony, a patriotic cultural program was held in the school hall. The Prayer service that emphasized the need to eradicate social evils, bondage to social media, and building a stronger India was concluded with Rabindranath Tagore's prayer-poem 'In to that Haven of Freedom'.

Ms. Hamshika welcomed the gathering with her affable words. Chinmayi and Inchara performed an expressive classical welcome dance. An impactful mime act depicting the struggle for independence was performed which created a sense of gratitude towards the freedom fighters, among the students. The spirit of nationalism was brought alive through vivacious dance performances.

Informative snippets on the history and significance of the Indian National Flag with the PPT presentation was shared. The story of tricolor added beauty to the speech. Lekana and Aini conducted a quick quiz, testing the students' knowledge of India's freedom struggle, its heroes, and key events. 'The First Woman Spy' a skit on the life of Neera Arya, was portrayed proficiently by the students. It was written by Kashish of class 9 B. This was followed by a melodious rendition of patriotic songs, sung by Ritu, Rachel Snehal and Fiona. The songs filled the air with a sense of pride and unity.

The Chief Guest Mrs Lavina praised the efforts of the students and teachers in organizing such a meaningful celebration. She emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by our ancestors and urged the students to contribute positively to the nation's progress. The Headmistress Sr. Gloria A.C appreciated the efforts of the students in skillfully presenting patriotic performances. The students who won prizes in the various competitions held in the month of July were awarded with certificates.

Ms.Iffah expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the celebration. Trisha, Darryl and Krishel deftly anchored the program. The whole program was planned and coordinated by the class mentor Mrs. Dimple Quadros with the cooperation of her class students.
