The Office of State Level Athletics Sports Meet (Under 14) 2023-‘24 was inaugurated on October 14, 2023 at St Cecily’s High School, Udupi. The ceremony marks the official countdown to the much-anticipated sporting event to be held on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2023. The District Administration, Zilla panchayath, School Education Department has entrusted the leadership of hosting the momentous event to St Cecily’s High School, Udupi.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the M.L.A., Sri Yashpal Suvarna, Dr Ashok Kamath, BEO, Udupi, Smt Rashmi Bhat, council member, Udupi Municipality, Sri Ramesh Kanchan, Finance committee acting President, Sr Therese Jyothi, Joint Secretary of St Cecily’s Institutions along with other office bearers of different committees, TPOs, PETs of schools, PTA members, Alumni of the School, Staff as well as Sports enthusiasts and promoters.

The dignitaries joined hands in lighting of the lamp which symbolised the official opening of the office. The Logo of the Sports Meet was also unveiled during the event.

Dr Ashok Kamath welcomed the dignitaries and the officials present. In the introductory message the Headmistress of St Cecily’s High School, Sr Preethi Crasta A.C. appealed for altruistic cooperation and support from all present as well as members of various committees of the mega event. Sri Yashapal Suvarna in his presidential note assured his extensive support towards the success of the event and also gave his notable suggestions for the preparation and success of the event.

Mr Edwin Mendonca, P.E.T. of the host school presented the proceedings that were conducted till date towards the preparations for the event. Sri Vijay Kumar Shetty, President of Physical Education Association, Udupi, compeered the programme while Mrs Saritha, Kannada teacher of the school proposed the vote of thanks.
