St Agnes High School, Mangaluru

On 5th July 1914 the High School classes were shifted from St. Ann’s to St Agnes premises. The Superior General Mother Aloysia was the third Headmistress of the School in the year 1921-1922.

Education of girls in the vicinity of Bendore was a felt need. Hence a sound Catholic Education was provided keeping in mind the development of women as persons imbibed with deep faith in God and in them. The school celebrated its centenary in the year 2014.

The medium of instruction in this institution is both Kannada and English. An innovative method in teaching is done by using Smart Classes. Students are given special training to answer NTSE, NMMS to avail the National Scholarships. Students prove their true sportsmanship by winning trophies at State and National Level Sports Meet. In the year 2017 Jayani R Nath secured 624 out 625 in the SSLC examination and stood second in the State making St Agnes proud!

St. Agnes, the Patron Saint of this School is a model for the young pupils - of all that is pure and beautiful. She a wealthy Roman maiden chose to be faithful to God. With the motto, ‘GOD IS OUR STRENGTH’ the students are inspired to choose the hard right against the easy wrong.

St. Agnes looks at the 21st Century squarely and steadily in the face, serving as an ideal, capturing the imagination, firing the heat and illuminating the way for generations of young women.
