Carmel D.El.Ed., Bidar
Bidar District, known as the Crown of Karnataka being set at the topmost, namely, the tip of Karnataka State District is a backward area of the State and great efforts are on to bring it to the mainstream of development. Attempts were made to start the Teacher Training programme in the District in order to provide sufficient teachers to bring about the needed development in the students. Hence Carmel D.El.Ed was established at the request of Bishop Rev. Robert Michael Miranda and the initiative taken by Sister M. Olivia A.C. the then Provincial Superior. Carmel D.El.Ed College got the order from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) on 26.06.2009 and the Government of Karnataka granted permission to have Kannada as the medium of instruction.
The day 28th July, was a red letter day for the Sisters of Maria Nilaya, Bidar. The invitees inaugurated the College Building and Bishop Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga blessed it. Sister Noelle Marie A.C took charge as the Principal and Sister M. Jyothi A.C as the Vice Principal.
