St Agnes Pre-University College, Mangaluru

St Agnes Pre-University College, Mangaluru is the first Catholic Women’s College established in South India and the second in the country. The College is a pioneer in the education of young women and has been at the forefront of a cultural and social renaissance with regard to the rights and roles of women. This has its source and origin in the philosophy and teaching of its founder Mother Aloysia, the second Superior General of The Apostolic Carmel who started St Agnes College in 1920.

A rigorous academic programme is at the core of everything and this is reflected in the consistently high academic results that we garner every year. The fundamental principle that permeates and governs our institution is the motto, “God is our Strength.”

Therefore our ardent endeavor is to prepare each student for academic, social and personal success in a constantly evolving globalized environment. This is in keeping with the far- sighted vision of Mother Aloysia who realized that women have a significant contribution to make in all aspects of our national life and our students who have left the portals of St Agnes have gone on to make a mark in the world of medicine, politics, administration, law, sports and education etc.

In rendering holistic learning delivered by highly qualified staff, our College is inspired by our Foundress Mother Veronica to continue its grand tradition of providing a modern education steeped in core values of compassion and social concern to endow students with a competitive edge over their counterparts elsewhere.
