English Medium Education is the need of the hour in a globalised world of today. Kemmannu, away from the Udupi city did not have an English Medium School and hence the people of Kemmannu requested that a school be started offering English Medium Education. The children from Kemmannu had to travel either to Kallianpur or to Udupi to pursue their studies in an English Medium School. On seeing the need of the time, the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel under the leadership of Sister Agatha Mary, the then Provincial Superior opened Carmel English Medium School on 1st June 2006 with 28 students on roll. Sister M. Henrita A.C. was the first Headmistress.

The School progresses step by step. The friendly atmosphere of the School, the various activities conducted and the importance given to Sports attract many in the locality to this School even though there are other English Medium Schools. The dedicated and loyal staff strives to give their very best for the integral development of the students. In the year 2016 the head of the Institution Sister Maria Sevika was honoured as the best teacher by the Department of Education. The school is growing steadily.
