Mary Immaculate High School, Bangalore
Mary Immaculate School was founded in 1958 with one pupil on roll, in a rented house, on V Cross for the benefit of the children of Wilson Garden and the neighboring extensions. Within six months the strength of the class rose to 48 and today it has grown in leaps and bounds.
Sister Corona, the Superior, Sister Gonzaga and Sister Sebastiana were the pioneers who occupied a rented house on VI cross. In 1962 the school was sanctioned on the European School scheme – the Anglo Indian S. S. C. scheme.
In 1966 Aug. 30th a Special G. O. was issued giving permission to switch over from the Anglo Indian School scheme to the State syllabus as per the wish of the Management. Though the parents were free to take their children to European schools, no one asked for a T. C. All credit goes to the little school for its efficiency and popularity. In 1967 on February 16th permission was given to start the High School. Over the years the strength of the school has outgrown. The school that was started in a rented house now has its own spacious buildings.
Reading the signs of the time, the changing scenario in the field of Education and at the request of the educated parents, the Management ventured into the new vistas that is to change over from the State syllabus to Indian Council for School Certificate Examination (ICSE). However the school continues to have the schooling till S. S.L.C under the State Board. Every year the students secure 100% results in the S.S.L.C and there is a great rush to get a seat in the well established and renowned school. The school has updated with the new technology such as smart class, SMS and X SEED syllabus. The school stands as one of the best in the city of Bengaluru. Students excel in every sphere bringing laurels to the institution!
